Philadelphia Positive Women's Network
General PWN Statement The US Positive Women’s Network, PWN is a project of W.O.R.L.D. Women Organized to Respond to Life Threatening Diseases, Oakland CA. The PWN applies a gender equity and human rights lens to the HIV epidemic to achieve federal policies grounded in the reality of women’s lived experiences. The PWN is a national membership body of HIV Positive women including Trans women and allies working for federal policy change. The US PWN was founded in 2008. The Philadelphia Chapter PWN-Philly, was established 1 year later. -Our mission is to prepare and involve women living with HIV at all levels of policy and decision making to improve the quality of women’s lives by: • Training and supporting women HIV positive women and Allies to be leaders • Training and sharing tools of advocates • Mobilizing for strategic campaigns to change policy
